How to Approach Campus Data Governance with a Strategic, Student-centered Mindset

Many universities encounter issues related to survey data. Low response rates, poor access to cross-campus data, and underutilization of data for strategic decision-making can result in lost opportunities to improve student success and the student experience. To rectify these factors, Mizzou developed a campus-wide data governance project supported by Institutional Research, Enrollment Management, Undergraduate Studies, and Student Affairs.

This webinar provides a brief overview of Mizzou’s process, examining their data curation model created to ensure best-practice planning, design, preservation, analysis and strategic reporting around student surveys, as well as the current status of these efforts. We also define and explore the impact a strong data governance framework has in creating and improving a connected ecosystem on campus.
